About Us
Rural Sky is a private mental health practice based in Goondiwindi, Queensland, operated by Accredited Mental Health Social Worker Katherine Johnstone. Katherine offers professional, compassionate therapy to people experiencing a range of mental health concerns, with sessions available in-person or via secure telehealth. Services are tailored to support the needs of individuals and families living in rural and regional communities.
Therapeutic support is evidence-based and may draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Theraplay-informed practice, Circle of Security, and the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
This service is available to:

Children and adolescents experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, including anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, anger, school-related stress, social withdrawal, or difficulties with peer relationships and self-esteem

Adults experiencing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, stress, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, or challenges adjusting to major life changes

Parents wanting support to improve their parenting skills, strengthen connection with their children, and manage stress

Couples seeking to improve communication, emotional closeness, and relationship satisfaction

Self-managed NDIS participants requiring therapeutic support

Individuals accessing support through Queensland WorkCover, Queensland Police Service Self Refer, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Fire and Emergency Services Support Network (FESSN), or Queensland Ambulance Service Priority One

This is a fee-paying service. Appointments are required. Referrals are not necessary. Bulk billing is not available.
