About Us

The main objective of this organisation is to promote swimming as a way to fitness and health for all adults, regardless of age or ability. The motto of AUSSI is 'Fitness, friendship, and fun' and the aim is to ensure that the fun, camaraderie, encouragement and club spirit, keep people motivated to keep swimming for their health. The Masters members swim at Club, State and International level. Most clubs run a Carnival fully attended by other clubs, city and country. We are an incorporated swimming association, part of a National Body with approximately 8000 swimmers of all ages who swim in 5 year age groupings. Our aims include fitness and fun with learning accents on training for fitness and competition at all levels or just fitness. As with swimming our social life is excellent due to there being no age barriers and a helping hand generally, and by club and State coaches where necessary. Although we are not a Learn to Swim Association our different clubs can all boast having those with physical disabilities who benefit by swimming and company and encouragement.
