Mental health service

About Us

The UWA Medical Centre is a fully equipped and accredited health service providing safe, high quality and confidential health care to the UWA community. The general practice provides a full range of GP, health and
support services including psychiatry and mental health. WA Primary Health Alliance co-funds mental health nurses to provide clinical care co-ordination, structured psychological treatment and low intensity interventions
for the UWA student population with severe and complex and/or high risk mental illness to keep them well in the community, reduce potentially preventable hospitalisations and provide a crisis intervention service.
The mental health nurses are an integral part of the newly established Care and Assessment Team, which is a merger of Counselling and Psychological Services and the Medical Centre as a single point of contact for students.

This service is partially funded by the WA Primary Health Alliance.
