Established in 1979, the Augusta Historical Museum offers visitors a comprehensive display documenting the rich history of Augusta and Districts since European settlement in 1830.

Augusta Historical Society

The Society has 119 members, many of whom meet on the third Thursday of each month (September to May) in the Society Hall adjacent to the Museum. A highlight in the Society’s calendar is the Anniversary Dinner held on May 2nd each year commemorating the arrival of the first European settlers to Augusta on May 2nd 1830.

The Margaret River and District Historical Society (MRDHS) began around 20 years ago and is dedicated to collecting, preserving and cataloguing the local history of Margaret River and surrounding districts.

Augusta Volunteer Marine Rescue's primary purpose is to preserve human life at sea or on water. This is achieved by maintaining a volunteer standy crew at all times. In order to maintain this service vessel maintenance and replacement is essential along with crew training.
