Cairns HomeStay Support Service

The Cairns HomeStay Support Service supports people at risk of homelessness to remain housed. HomeStay can offer assistance if you have a current tenancy and are experiencing a crisis which places your tenancy at risk. We offer support to tenants of private, public and community housing by working with people to problem solve issues that jeopardise their current tenancy.

Working within a case management framework, HomeStay will visit you in your home or community. We can support you for up to 6 months, providing assistance with budgeting and financial management, information on tenancy rights and responsibilities and support in establishing household routines to maintain your current tenancy. HomeStay will advocate and refer you to appropriate community services for continued support.

Referrals are accepted from support services, real estate agents, Department of Housing and Public Works, Access Community Housing or self-referral.

Referrals can be emailed directly to us or a simple phone call to set up a meeting.
