About Us

The purpose of Anglicare Homelessness Services (previously known as the Hub) is to meet the housing and supports needs of homeless people by providing easy access to a wide range of services in Cairns. Clients are assisted through direct service delivery and through referral to other services.

This service supports people experiencing homelessness or people at imminent risk of homelessness in Cairns.

There is a strong focus on supporting people who have traditionally experienced difficulties accessing the homelessness service system, including those who may be sleeping rough and those with complex needs.

The service facilitates improved access for homeless people to a wide range of housing and support services in Cairns. As a result, homeless people benefit from coordinated service delivery which provides, access to information, referral and advocacy to meet their needs, referral to housing and accommodation options and assistance to resolve crisis.

Anglicare Homelessness Services provides an accessible point of entry to the broader service system for people who are experiencing homelessness or people at imminent risk of homelessness. The service achieves this through case management, administering brokerage funds to facilitate the achievement of case plans and by engaging other services working with the same target group. We develop and facilitate collaborative service delivery and partnership arrangements between a range of housing and support providers.
