About Us

Yass Wellness Centre is a place where a group of independent health practitioners have come to practise their discipline in a supportive environment.

We work independently and together towards developing a service model that incorporates the physical, mental, emotional and social health of the client.

Our aim is to work together to provide a high level of professional care in a safe and friendly environment.  All our practitioners are committed to continuing education and strive to remain up to date with evidence based best practice.  One can expect excellence in service when it comes to assessment, diagnosis, treatment and education.

COVID 19 Update
We are excited to let you know that we have re- opened our Physiotherapy and Pilates services.

We want to reassure you that your health and safety are our highest priority.

We have always adhered to the highest standards in clinical infection control. To ensure everyone’s safety, there are some additional precautions we want to inform you of prior to welcoming you back.

1. We kindly request when possible, only scheduled patients attend the practice. Please avoid bringing additional family members to appointments. 2. Upon arrival and on leaving the practice, we ask you to clean your hands with an alcohol based hand sanitiser. This is set up for your convenience at the reception desk.

3. If you, or anyone you live with, has a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, light diarrhoea in the last 3-4 days or have returned from overseas or interstate in the last 14 days prior to your appointment, please contact us to reschedule.

4. Practice appropriate cough/sneeze etiquette by maintaining a distance from other people, using a disposable tissue or sneezing/coughing into your elbow, disposing of the tissue and cleaning hands afterwards.

With these extra procedures and additional rigorous cleaning and disinfecting of all areas of the practice, including reception and waiting room areas, we will keep everyone safe and are excited to welcome you back!

We have been missing you, our valued patients, and cannot wait to get back to some normality. We would like to thank you all for your patience, understanding and cooperation at this challenging time.

Please take care and stay healthy and we look forward to seeing you.

The multi-disciplinary setting offers better integrated care and choice for the client.  Yass Wellness Centre strives to provide a convenient one stop Allied Health Centre.

Services:

  • CLINICAL EXERCISE CLASS -

Clinical Exercise Classes are an exercise program that is focused on building strength without bulk, improving posture, flexibility and agility. It involves a series of controlled movements that engage both your body and your mind. Many of the exercises utilise specifically designed exercise apparatus that provide graduated resistance to movement.

The outcome of a regular Clinical Exercise Class is a balanced body that is strong and flexible.

  • PODIATRY -

A Podiatrist is a specially trained health profession who deals with the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of medical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Podiatrists are trained to manage conditions such as bone & joint disorders such as arthritis, soft tissue and muscular conditions, as well as circulatory and neurological diseases.

Podiatrists are able to assist and manage most complications affecting the lower limb. They are also highly skilled and play an important role in managing diabetic foot complications, skin and nail disorders, corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, fungal infections and sporting injuries.

  • REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPY - Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It’s performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is defined by the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects a patient may be presenting. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation is required to reduce or eliminate pain and restore that function. Remedial massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position; increase the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas, thus removing blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions resulting from injury.

  • PHYSIOTHERAPY - Using advanced techniques and evidence-based care, physiotherapists assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health conditions and movement disorders. Physiotherapy helps repair damage, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility and improve quality of life. Physiotherapy extends from health promotion to injury prevention, acute care, rehabilitation, maintenance of functional mobility, chronic disease management, patient and carer education and occupational health.

  • ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture encompasses an holistic view of the body through the prisms of the meridian, neurological and fascial systems. We use high quality very fine, single use sterile disposable needles. This often in combination with moxibustion (the application of burning mugwort), manual therapy (fascial and other soft tissue releases and joint mobilisation).

Physiotherapists use acupuncture to relieve pain for a number of conditions:

    • Back pain and sciatica
    • Migraine and headache
    • Muscular and joint pain
    • Whiplash injury and neck pain
    • Fibromyalgia
    • Osteoarthritis

    DRY NEEDLING

Trigger point dry needling is the use of thin acupuncture needles to deactivate and desensitise myofascial trigger points. Myofascial pain syndrome is a condition where the muscle produces local and referred pain. The primary goal of dry needling is to desensitise supersensitive structures and to restore motion and function. This technique stimulates a healing response to reduce pain and dysfunction. Conditions treated with dry needling include orthopaedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
