About Us
Chinwags:
A calm, connected space where every child belongs.
Hi, I’m Inge, a single mum raising two amazing girls through the lens of neurodiversity, and the educator behind Chinwags Family Day Care.
Chinwags is a small, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child is truly seen, heard, and supported. The name comes from my earlier work in storytelling and training. It means “having a good chat,” reflecting the deep communication, connection, and sense of belonging that shape everything I do.
I created Chinwags to be both the present, engaged mum I wanted to be, and the kind of educator I had always envisioned. I offer an alternative to large group care, especially for younger children and those who may not thrive in busy settings or just like a break to reconnect. Providing the consistency of one calm, kind educator who truly gets to know each child and their family.
At Chinwags, I believe children are not problems to be managed, but unique individuals learning how to be themselves in the world.
Behaviour is communication.
When we look beyond what we see on the surface, we begin to understand the needs, emotions, and energy underneath.
With over 25 years of experience in early childhood education, I’ve learned that children thrive when they feel seen, valued, and understood.
The Nurtured Heart Approach has deeply shaped my work. It guides me to recognise children’s strengths, build strong connection, and respond to challenges with clarity rather than frustration.
I also explore tools such as Human Design to deepen understanding—for both children and the adults supporting them. Every child has their own way of engaging with the world, and when we honour that, learning and connection unfold naturally.
Children are incredible teachers.
They show us where we are calm, where we feel triggered, and where we still have room to grow.
My work also supports families and educators to reconnect with their own wisdom, so they can guide children with confidence, compassion, and trust.
Because when adults feel secure within themselves, children feel safe to blossom.
