The state electorate of Bendigo West has an approximate area of 1,500 km².
It is comprised of 37 suburbs including Baringhup, Baringhup West, Barkers Creek, Bradford, Campbells Creek, Castlemaine, Chewton, Chewton Bushlands, Eastville, Faraday, Golden Point, Gower, Green Gully, Harcourt, Ironbark, Lockwood, Lockwood South, Long Gully, Maiden Gully, Maldon, Mckenzie Hill, Moonlight Flat, Muckleford, Muckleford South and Myers Flat plus parts of another 21 suburbs.
It is comprised of the locality of Shelbourne plus parts of Carisbrook.
It is comprised of parts of the councils of Greater Bendigo City and Mount Alexander Shire.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Bendigo East, Macedon and Ripon.
It is within the federal electorate of Bendigo.
