It is comprised of the suburbs of Bellfield, Eaglemont, Heidelberg, Heidelberg Heights, Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Rosanna and Viewbank plus parts of Macleod and Yallambie.
It is within the council of Banyule City.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Bulleen, Bundoora, Eltham, Kew, Northcote and Preston.
It is within the federal electorate of Jagajaga.
