The state electorate of Hastings has an approximate area of 470 km².
It is comprised of the suburbs of Bittern, Blind Bight, Cannons Creek, Crib Point, Elizabeth Island, Hastings, Hmas Cerberus, Langwarrin, Langwarrin South, Pearcedale, Somerville, Tyabb and Warneet plus parts of Baxter, Clyde, Cranbourne South, Devon Meadows, Frankston North, Moorooduc and Tooradin.
It is comprised of the locality of French Island.
It is comprised of the council of French-elizabeth-sandstone Islands plus parts of Casey City, Frankston City and Mornington Peninsula Shire.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Bass, Carrum, Cranbourne, Frankston, Mornington and Nepean.
It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Dunkley and Flinders.
