The state electorate of Mermaid Beach has an approximate area of 23 km².
It is comprised of the suburbs of Mermaid Beach, Mermaid Waters and Miami plus parts of Broadbeach, Burleigh Waters, Robina and Varsity Lakes.
It is comprised of parts of the divisions of Division 11 and Division 12.
It is within the council of Gold Coast.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Burleigh, Mudgeeraba and Surfers Paradise.
It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Mcpherson and Moncrieff.
