The state electorate of Gaven has an approximate area of 77 km².
It is comprised of the suburbs of Gaven, Highland Park and Nerang plus parts of Carrara, Gilston, Mount Nathan, Pacific Pines and Worongary.
It is comprised of parts of the divisions of Division 5 and Division 8.
It is within the council of Gold Coast.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Bonney, Mudgeeraba, Southport, Surfers Paradise and Theodore.
It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Fadden, Moncrieff and Wright.
